Only a few minutes drive from the M1 we are based in the centre of the  beautiful village of Breaston on the Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire border.

Breaston was mentioned in the Doomsday book and was said to be worth four shillings (worth a lot more nowadays)! It is still reputed to have one of, if not the, largest village green in the country and the Chequers Inn is right on it doorstep.

It is refreshing to know in an age where pubs constantly change their names that the Chequers Inn has been named that way since 1846!
